Prof. Dr. Uwe Holtz
Born in 1944, a former German MP, is professor of Political Science at Bonn
University (Faculty of Arts and Humanities) and development consultant.
Prof. Holtz graduated from the University of
Cologne in 1967 and received his Doctorate of Philosophy from the same
University in 1969 (major: French and Spanish literature; minors: Anglo-American
history, Ancient history).
He served as assistant professor for modern history at
the University of Kiel from 1969 to 1972. Since 1975, he has been a lecturer of
Political Science, and since 1987 an honorary professor at Bonn University.
1999
Senior Fellow at the Centre for European Integration Studies (ZEI), Bonn
University; since 2003 Senior Fellow at the Bonn Centre for Development Research
(ZEF).
Prof. Holtz has consulted for and advised several national and international
organizations and institutions on development issues including the European
Union and the United Nations.
His focus is on democracy and human rights,
development policy and the third world, European integration and sustainability. Read more
